1948 Packard Custom Eight Convertible Victoria

This remarkable automobile represented Packard’s first fresh design following World War II. The 1948 model featured a new lower body structure that created flowing fender lines for an aerodynamic appearance. In the prosperous postwar market, customers responded favorably, with nearly 90,000 Packards sold that year.

The Custom Eight Convertible Victoria stood as the company’s premium offering, distinguished by unique front-end metal work, an egg-crate grille, and double-bar rocker panel moldings. The vehicle’s 160-horsepower straight-eight engine provided impressive performance for its day. With just 1,105 examples produced, this model remains particularly scarce among collectors. The lavish appointments and comfortable ride made it one of the most satisfying luxury convertibles of the late 1940s.
