1963 Lancia Flaminia GT 2500 3C

Four round headlights distinguished Carrozzeria Touring’s take on Lancia’s flagship from the dual-lamp Pininfarina-bodied Flaminias.

Milan’s Touring constructed the aluminum bodywork using its patented Superleggera method over a shortened wheelbase to create a true two-seat GT, with the separate GTL variant serving as the 2+2.

The “3C” designation indicated triple twin-choke Weber carburetors feeding the 2.5-liter V6 engine.

The 60-degree V6 produced 140 horsepower at 5,600 rpm, paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Power reached the rear wheels through a De Dion axle arrangement that positioned the transaxle at the rear for optimal weight distribution.

Production of the GT 2500 3C ran from January 1962 through September 1963, with approximately 150 examples built before Lancia increased displacement to 2.8 liters.

The model succeeded the Aurelia B20 as Lancia’s sporting coupe while appealing to buyers seeking understated Italian grand touring capability without the attention drawn by contemporary Ferraris or Maseratis.
