1932 Packard Eight Coupe Roadster
The 1932 Packard Standard Eight, part of the Ninth Series line, was offered on 129.5 and 136.5-inch wheelbases, with prices ranging from $2,485 to $3,450. During the Great Depression’s worst year, it accounted for most of Packard’s 7,659 sales. The model offered 13 factory body styles, including the new Coupe Roadster with roll-up windows and rumble seat, designed by Werner Gubitz. This style 509 Coupe Roadster marked Packard’s first use of the “convertible” name. The Standard Eight featured a 320-cubic-inch straight eight-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission.
