Perhaps America’s most beloved promotional vehicle, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile has been cruising the streets since 1936 looking exactly like what you’d expect: a giant hot dog on wheels.

Born when Carl Mayer decided the best way to sell sausages was to drive one around Chicago, this delightfully absurd creation has gone through multiple iterations over its 87-year history.
From its early days when the driver awkwardly poked out from the middle like a hot dog vendor emerging from their bun, to modern versions featuring 300-horsepower V8 engines and GPS systems that play the Oscar Mayer jingle in 21 different musical styles, the Wienermobile has only gotten more elaborate.

Now renamed the “Frankmobile” in 2023, this 27-foot-long rolling frankfurter continues to bring smiles across America, proving that sometimes the wurst ideas are actually the best ones!
