This bird moves through the rainforest canopy like a drifting ember.
High in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, the Sunda Minivet travels in lively flocks among the treetops. The males glow with fiery orange-red against deep black wings, while the females carry softer shades of yellow and gray that blend into the leaves.
It feeds mainly on insects, skillfully picking them from branches and foliage while constantly moving through the canopy. As these birds travel together, they quietly help keep insect populations balanced within the forest ecosystem.
A flicker of flame among emerald leaves, yet a tireless guardian of the rainforest canopy.
