1936 Lancia Astura Cabriolet Series III ‘Tipo Bocca’
The 1936 Lancia Astura Series III Cabriolet by Pinin Farina was a masterpiece of pre-war Italian luxury car design. Built on Lancia’s advanced Astura chassis, which featured a narrow-angle (30-degree) 2.9 liter V8 engine, it combined technical innovation with elegant coachwork.
The ‘Tipo Bocca’ name refers to the car’s first owner, Giuseppina Bocca, for whom Pinin Farina created this special cabriolet. The design featured distinctive elements like a fold-flat windscreen, flowing fenders, curved side windows, and an elegant convertible top that stowed away completely for a clean profile.
