𝐖𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐫 𝐎𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲: 1968 Ferves Ranger
The Ferves Ranger is what happens when Italians decide to build an off-roader with parts from a Fiat 500 and a healthy dose of whimsy. Looking like a cross between a Jeep and a kiddie ride, this tiny adventurer packed a mighty 18 horsepower from its rear-mounted Fiat engine – just enough power to embarrass a determined bicycle.
Despite its toy-like appearance, the Ranger was surprisingly capable, featuring a folding windscreen, removable doors, and such a low gear ratio it could match a pedestrian’s pace (perfect for when you want to show off to sidewalk crowds). Available in both two- and four-wheel drive versions, it could scramble over terrain that would make larger vehicles think twice.
With only 600 ever built and fewer than 50 surviving today, spotting a Ferves Ranger in the wild is about as likely as finding a unicorn at a petting zoo.
