This tiny bird wears soft lavender feathers that seem to glow in the sunlight.

The Lavender Waxbill inhabits grasslands, savannas, and open woodlands across eastern and southern Africa. It feeds mainly on grass seeds, tiny insects, and other small invertebrates, often moving through low vegetation in cheerful pairs or small flocks.

A delicate jewel of the African grasslands, proving that the gentlest colors can leave the strongest impression.
