It’s these moments that must make Lee Asher feel fulfilled each time he brings home a rescued dog. This time, though, his mission was even bigger.

Lee visited Marion County Dog Services in Oregon, determined to rescue five precious pups. What happened next will make your heart swell.

Ready for a New Beginning

Shelters provide a safe space for pups waiting for their forever families. Yet, overcrowding is an unfortunate reality for many.

That was the case for Marion County Dog Services, who had reached out for help as they were running out of space for these lovable creatures. They knew finding new homes was not going to be easy.

But Lee Asher came to the rescue, hoping to help five deserving shelter dogs find happiness. As he walked into the shelter, one particular dog caught his attention right away.

This sweet, energetic little one had been waiting months for a home, and Lee couldn’t understand why. The dog’s joyful spirit immediately won Lee over.

After a quick walk around the yard, Lee knew this little one was meant to be his. There was something special about the connection they formed, and Lee couldn’t wait to welcome him home.

Afterward, the rescuers introduced four more pups into the yard, where they joyfully played together, giving Lee the chance to meet them all at once.

A Journey to the Asher House

All the dogs were in great shape, full of energy and joy. The team at the Oregon shelter had done an incredible job caring for them, and it truly showed.

Lee then gave the shelter staff a wonderful surprise—he announced he’d be adopting an additional dog. Their faces lit up with joy, and Lee was thrilled to welcome another pup into his family.

Once the introductions were complete and it was time to head to the Asher House, Lee carefully loaded all the dogs into his car, making sure they were cozy and comfortable for the ride home.

They arrived at his home, where Lee made sure each of the six dogs felt comfortable and had time to unwind. Soon enough, they’d be introduced to their new furry friends waiting for them.

Lee had no worries—they would fit right in with the other animals, and their wonderful personalities were sure to shine.
