Sadly, many dogs still suffer on the harsh streets today, while far too many people turn away, ignoring their pain.

But imagine if everyone knew that even the smallest act of kindness could change the life of these helpless animals. Perhaps, then, more would step up to make a difference.

Thankfully, there are still those who care. One such person, a Good Samaritan in Primm, Nevada, is proof of that. When he found a severely matted stray dog on the street, he didn’t just walk away like most others.

He immediately reached out for help, and that simple choice would transform the dog’s life forever.

A New Beginning

When rescuers received a call about the matted dog, they rushed to the scene. Without a collar, microchip, or any ID, they brought him to The Animal Foundation, a rescue group based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The shelter staff instantly bonded with him and decided to name him Primm in honor of the town where he was found.

Time was of the essence, so they quickly brought him to Krystal Elizondo, the lead groomer at The Animal Foundation. As soon as Krystal saw Primm, she knew the job ahead of her would be tough.

After some grooming, Primm began to relax, slowly starting to emerge from his shell.

“He was absolutely perfect during his groom,” Krystal shared with The Dodo. “Primm was scared and unsure at first, but he let it happen, and soon he was wagging his tail, giving me kisses.”

Once the grooming was done, Primm was a completely new dog. He bloomed like a beautiful flower, and it was clear his future was filled with hope.

Living the Good Life

Primm stayed at the shelter for a while, where he made significant progress in all areas. But the most important thing he regained was his trust.

“When he first arrived, he would curl up in the back of his kennel,” said Max Blaustein, The Animal Foundation’s marketing and communications coordinator. “By the time he left for foster, he was relaxed at the front of his kennel, eagerly waiting to be taken for a walk.”

Now, in his new foster home, Primm is living the best life he truly deserves.

This is the power of kindness — from a frightened, matted stray with no hope, Primm blossomed into the happiest pup, all thanks to the selfless actions of those who took the time to care.
