The 1959 Mercury Country Cruiser Colony Park Station Wagon marked the peak of Mercury’s wagon offerings in the Jet Age. At over 18 feet long, this massive family hauler featured distinctive styling with quad headlamps and fin-inspired taillights that reflected the space-race enthusiasm of the era.

Released during Mercury’s 20th anniversary, the 1959 model featured a sleeker pillarless hardtop design compared to previous boxy versions. The Colony Park variant was identified by its simulated woodgrain exterior trim, honoring the wooden wagons of earlier decades.

Power came from a 383-cubic-inch V-8 producing 322 horsepower, paired with a three-speed Merc-O-Matic transmission. Optional features included power steering and brakes for easier handling.

Inside, the wagon offered seating for nine passengers with its fold-away third row, plus over 90 cubic feet of cargo space with hidden compartments. Luxury touches included power windows, a push-button radio, and a power-operated rear window.
